The Scarlatti Sphere

In 1739, Thomas Roseingrave published 30 of Domenico Scarlatti's

Sonatas in London. They became hugely popular and many composers

based in Britain were inspired by his music. Among the subscribers

to this volume were composers such as Thomas Arne, Charles Avison,

William Boyce, Maurice Greene, and John Stanley.

This project aims to examine the impact of Scarlatti's Sonatas in the

decades that followed and to bring into the spotlight little-performed

works by composers based in Britain.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, recitals scheduled in York (UK),

London (UK), Niigata (Japan) and Tokyo (Japan) in 2020 have been

postponed. Please come back here to find out about future recitals

of "The Scarlatti Sphere".

In the meantime, please consider buying Masumi a
